The Friday Favorites — Breakfast

Last week we talked about sweets and desserts, I figured this time around we could go over some delicious breakfast favorites. Breakfast foods are some of the best, in my opinion, and NO there is no wrong “time of day” for it. 😛 I’ll eat pancakes or French toast for dinner any day of the week!

I’ve mentioned this in other posts here or there, but I love the very simple but delicious bacon, egg and cheese on an English muffin from Nick’s Firehouse. They’re located right next to the parking lot behind the Museum Place Mall which makes it an easy go-to if you’re on the move and the sandwich always comes out pipping hot. They are a cash only establishment, so take note of that if you plan to stop by.

You haven’t fully experienced breakfast in Salem if you haven’t been to Red’s Restaurant. Honestly, everything is good and this is verified by the long line full of locals wanting to get in the door! My favorites from their breakfast menu include their blueberry pancakes and the western omelette. Stop in for a bottomless cup of coffee and delicious food to begin your day!

On Wednesday morning (Nov. 1st) after the craziness of Halloween in Salem had calmed down I stopped into the Ugly Mug Diner for some much needed coffee and breakfast. I ordered a cheese omelette which was honestly HUGE. It was literally half the size of the plate it came served on! Absolutely yummy with thick slices of toast and home fries on the side. Now, I didn’t order hash but the guy sitting next to me at the breakfast bar area did and it looked delicious. Just throwing that out there for consideration. 😛
