The Salem Farmer’s Market dates for 2018 are on the calendar! YAY! If you haven’t swung by and checked it out, you definitely should.
The 2018 market is every THURSDAY from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm from June 7th to October 11th, 2018. This happens in Derby Square which is in the area of the old town hall. A Google Maps link to the exact location is here.
Per the Salem Farmers’ Market website:
“A little history
The Salem Farmers’ Market is a tradition that dates back to 1634. With its peak around 1930, where more than 40 vendors sold goods in collapsible wooden stalls, an estimated 10,000 people visited the market on a single Saturday. In the early 1970s, the market ended, and the Salem Redevelopment Authority redesigned the square into what we now know as Derby Square.
The Salem Farmers’ Market typically runs early June to mid-October, every Thursday from 3 pm to 7 pm.
Want to volunteer?
There is no shortage of work to be done! We are currently looking for volunteers to help with set up and break down of the market. If you’re interested in volunteering, send us an email [kylie@salemmainstreets.org].”
