Coon’s is one of Salem’s oldest retailers, with a tradition of providing Salem residents and visitors with unique gifts, souvenirs, and huge selection of greeting cards.
Coon’s was originally established in 1953 as a jewelry store by its founding owner, Arthur Coon.
Over the last six decades it has changed locations several times throughout the city, each time expanding and growing. Coon’s is also the home of Penelope’s Pet Boutique which merged into the gift shop in 2014, supplying Salem with a variety of pet apparel, gifts, toys and locally baked treats. On most days, you can find Jorge, Karen’s faithful Yorkie behind the counter!
Karen Davis, owner, had a vision to completely update and energize the store and it’s location. After joining forces with Paul Destefano of Destefano Store Fixtures of Lawrence MA, ‘Magic’ has happened and an unbelievable transformation has occurred. ‘You will have to see it to believe it!’ Karen Davis
We look forward to seeing the reaction of both our new and loyal customers.”
