Tickets for Legacy of the Hanging Judge and Spirits of the Gables are available on the House of the Seven Gables website! Both of these performances happen only in October and the 2018 dates are: October 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27.

On select weekend nights in October, step into the world of Salem author Nathaniel Hawthorne as you experience two dramatic theatrical performances played out within historic houses connected directly to Hawthorne himself. The Legacy of the Hanging Judge and Spirits of The Gables were created in 2001 by local writer Anne Lucas and have been performed on October weekends since then.”
Legacy of the Hanging Judge
This experience takes visitors back through Nathaniel Hawthorne’s birth home to the events of the infamous Salem Witch Trials, through the eyes of the author, whose own ancestor, Judge John Hathorne had a hand to play in the tragic events of 1692. Performances begin every ten minutes in The Nathaniel Hawthorne birth house and last approximately 35 minutes. Last performance begins at closing.
Spirits of the Gables
Get swept into Hawthorne’s tale of guilt, greed and revenge as the characters from The House of the Seven Gables (1851), come to life and recount their stories while you walk through the very house that inspired Hawthorne’s timeless novel. Performances begin every five minutes in The House of the Seven Gables and last approximately 35 minutes. Last performance begins at closing.
Tickets are available HERE. A note from the Gables regarding the combo passes: “Combination tickets are available for both shows. When purchasing a combination ticket, be sure to schedule your performance start times at least 50 minutes apart to ensure that you will make it to your second performance.”
