The Salem Arts Festival is coming up in a few weeks! I for one am super excited, it’s one of my favorites. I figured today we could do a Friday Favorites and also cover some of the things I love the most about the Festival. Feel free to chime in in the comments with your own favs. Please keep in mind these are just a few of the fun things going on over the festival weekend…you can also find Mural Slam, poetry and spoken word performances, singers and more.
Vendors
If you haven’t heard me say it before in other posts, I love street vendors and street fairs. The Arts Festival has tents set up all along the Old Town Hall area where you can shop local and handmade goods. I almost never leave empty handed.
The belly dancers
I must have been a belly dancer in a past life or something because I am forever fascinated by the art of it. The skirts with the jingly coins on them, the bright colors, the music, all of it. I enjoy seeing dancers every year at the Arts Festival.
Salem’s buskers
You’re bound to see some familiar faces wandering around the Festival, which I love. I always enjoy running into Salem’s Black Hat Society, Acqua Carta, the Addams Family of Salem and more. Be sure to have your camera or cell phone around so you can grab some selfies with them.
Fly Kidz
I have been poking around trying to find a schedule for this year and I hope the Fly Kidz are back for 2019. They are a hip hop dance group of young kids that have such fun energy. They always have the everyone’s attention when on stage.
This year’s Arts Festival takes place on June 7-9, 2019. Be sure to stay tuned to my blog and social media that weekend for my images, Instastories and more so you can check out the festival no matter where you are. Enjoy!! <3
