Do you know how deep the roots of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s work go? Coming up this fall you’ll have a chance to explore three films with the House of the Seven Gables that are examples of just that. Details are per Facebook.
“Did you know that Nathaniel Hawthorne has over 60 film credits to his name? Hawthorne’s work has inspired Hollywood since 1908. Thursday, September 5 at 6:30 p.m.
This version of the gothic romance stars George Sanders, Margaret Lindsay, and Vincent Price. A showing of Vincent Price’s guided tour of The Gables will kick off the evening.
*The Scarlet Letter (1926)
Friday, October 4 at 6:30 p.m.
The silent version of the film will have a unique piano accompaniment by Peter Krasinski. After the film, Nancy Schultz, a professor of English at Salem State University, will have a conversation with the audience.”
