I am such a huge advocate for keeping it local and shopping the small businesses in your town. Shopping small businesses in Salem helps the economy of the city of Salem, ensures growth and also brings you unique, handmade goods! You seriously cannot go wrong. Coming up on August 17-18 sales tax will be waived on most goods under $2500. Check out the details, per the City of Salem.
“Come Shop in Salem during the Sales Tax Holiday Weekend! This year, the Massachusetts Sales Tax Holiday is taking place on August 17th and 18th, 2019. We encourage everybody to come to Salem and take advantage of the discount provided by the waiving of the state sales tax on most goods priced less than $2500.
The language with regard to exclusions remains similar to past years, applying to telecommunications services, tobacco products, marijuana or marijuana products, meals, alcoholic beverages, gasoline, electricity, motor vehicles, and any other single item the price of which is in excess of $2,500.
We encourage all businesses which which would be affected to begin planning now for the holiday weekend to review POS systems and address any issues that may complicate compliance with the Sales Tax Holiday rules. Please click here for more information on the regulation.”
Enjoy!! <3
