Okay it has been a minute since I have done a Friday favorites post, I know. However this morning I was scrolling my Facebook group and saw a question about visiting in the winter and it got me thinking…why not outline some of my favorites on the blog today?
Coming into the witch city off season is such a different vibe and feel than the other times of the year. It can be so peaceful and relaxing compared to the chaos of the fall. So what are a few of my favorite winter activities?
Christmas in Salem tour
The Christmas in Salem house tour is an amazing way to get into the holiday spirit. Each year a different area of Salem is chosen and you get to take a look inside select historic homes, all decked out for the holidays. It seriously looks like something right out of a magazine, you won’t be disappointed.
Winter decor
I love wandering Salem and taking pictures of the city all decorated. Businesses participate in a window display competition, a tree gets set up and decorated in both Lapin Park and the Common, you can usually find a Krampus or two wandering around (so Salem it hurts), seasonal events hit the calendar and more.
Winter markets
Holiday shopping made easy + supporting local small businesses…it’s perfect. Get some gift items checked off your list or just simply treat yourself! Through the month of December there are tons of pop up holiday and winter themed markets that happen. Keep an eye on the calendar and enjoy.
I hope this helps give you some winter visit ideas! If you do plan to come to Salem during this time please keep in mind some attractions and businesses keep seasonal hours. If there is a certain place you have your hopes set on, call ahead to make sure they are open. Enjoy!! <3
