If you’re a history buff, this one is for you. The Essex National Heritage and Marblehead Museum have planned an event to debate the true birthplace of the US Navy. Details are per Facebook. Please note this event was rescheduled from its original date due to the Coronavirus.
“Where is the birthplace of the American Navy? Well, two local towns that have argued with each other for years over this question. Help us settle the Great Debate once and for all! Are you Team Beverly or Team Marblehead?
Come out and support your town as historians K. David Goss (Beverly) and Robert Booth (Marblehead) battle it out to decide the TRUE birthplace of the United States Navy. Tickets are $18 and will include either a Beverly or Marblehead commemorative pin. Not sure which side to choose? purchase a General Admission (WITHOUT button) ticket.”
