Happy Monday everyone! Today I wanted to share the details of the Hawthorne Hotel’s masquerade ball. This year’s ball is called “Chapter and Verse” and is inspired by all of the masters of the written word. Info is per the hotel.

“Immerse yourself in the fantasy world of a Venetian masquerade at the Hawthorne Hotel’s 6th winter Masquerade Ball: Chapter & Verse. Celebrate winter with a story-book masquerade on Saturday, January 29th. Dress to impress and immerse yourself in the fantasy world of a Venetian masquerade ball at the 2022 Masquerade Ball: Chapter & Verse, hosted by the Hawthorne Hotel. A million tales fill the night as storied characters come to life.
This year’s ball is inspired by the great masters of the written word and promises to be an evening of decadence, elegance, and style, complete with live entertainment, DJ, complimentary photo station, light hors d’oeuvres, cash bars, and a costume contest. See the hotel transform into an immersive literary experience that you will be talking about all year.
Tickets: $85 per person | includes one complimentary drink and light hors d’oeuvres. Act fast! A winner will be chosen from the first 150 tickets sold and receive a complimentary overnight stay with breakfast at the Hawthorne! Can be used the weekend of the ball or on a future date. This event is 21+ only | IDs will be checked at the door.

- Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This event is 21+ only. IDs must be presented at the door to be allowed access to the event. - Is there a dress code?
We highly recommend creative, elegant attire. Previous guests have dressed in formal masquerade style (fancy dress, masks, etc.), full costumes reflecting the theme, or a hybrid of both. - What is the refund policy?
Tickets are non-refundable. Please remember, if you are booking a room at the Hawthorne Hotel, your tickets are included. Do not purchase your tickets through Eventbrite. Should COVID -related restrictions force the Hawthorne to postpone the event, all tickets will be refunded. - What COVID-related safety measures are you taking?
All attendees must show proof of full vaccination AND a negative COVID test taken within 48 hours of the event. Free testing sites are available throughout Salem. Specific test requirements are subject to the guidance of the Salem Board of Health and protocols may change prior to the event. We will email attendees with updates, including current guidelines from the City of Salem. - What are my parking options at the event?
The Hawthorne Hotel has two parking lots adjacent to the building. Parking is free of charge, but is not guaranteed. Depending on the weather, there should be ample free parking along Salem Common or at meters on Hawthorne Blvd. - How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
