Good morning everyone and happy Monday! Today on the blog I have details of the Ropes Mansion reopening/resuming tours for the 2022 season. Did you know the Ropes Mansion was used as one of the filming locations for the movie Hocus Pocus? Yup! The front of the Mansion was used as Allison’s house and resuming May 28th you can peek inside as well.

“Ropes Mansion (318 Essex Street), 1727, was built in the Georgian style and renovated in 1894 in the Colonial Revival style by the firm Stone, Carpenter & Wilson. Ropes Mansion was home to three generations of the Ropes family. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
House tours will resume Saturday, May 28, 2022 from Noon-4 pm. Please enjoy the tranquil garden space which is open to the public 365 days a year, from dawn to dusk, at no charge. Dogs are most welcome.
The Ropes Garden (318 Essex Street) was designed and laid out in 1912 by John Robinson. It is a Colonial Revival garden βopen to the public free of chargeβ that also includes a greenhouse.” [Source]
