If you&#8217;re in Salem, MA for a few days and are looking to explore elsewhere one day I&#8217;d strongly suggest Rockport. Of course Salem fully has my heart, however my second favorite spot ever is Rockport. There are tons of cute little shops, areas to walk, delicious food, views and more. Today on the blog I wanted to outline a few things you could do in Rockport if you find yourself with the time during your Salem visit.<\/p>\n<h3>Getting there<\/h3>\n<p>If you have a car, the ride to Rockport will take you around 40 minutes. You can also take the train from Salem into Rockport. Alternatively you could use Uber or Lyft to get yourself around either directly into Rockport or once you get off of the train.<\/p>\n<h3>Bearskin Neck<\/h3>\n<p>Bearskin Neck in Rockport is an internationally known art colony full of shops, handmade vendors and more. It is <em>so cute<\/em> and a joy to wander when the weather is nice. Heck, I have even spent a rainy afternoon out and about when it was quiet and enjoyed the area mostly to myself. If you are in Rockport, Bearskin Neck is a must. You can read more about the area <a href=\"http:\/\/bearskinneck.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Enjoy some food with a view<\/h3>\n<p>Pick a local spot with a view of the water and enjoy good eats! The seafood is delicious, the Rockport Fudgery is a wonderful spot for a treat, tea or coffee from Bean &amp; Leaf is lovely (and super cute inside), it&#8217;s honestly hard to go that wrong.<\/p>\n<h3>The holidays in Rockport<\/h3>\n<p>If you&#8217;re visiting in December you can enjoy so many seasonal bonuses. Holiday shopping, winter concerts, horse drawn hay rides, caroling, Santa&#8217;s arrival, seasonal markets and more.
