One of the most common questions I am asked and one that I see come up in my Facebook group<\/a> is about hotels. Where to stay, which one is best, which ones are haunted, when to book, etc. I have written tons of blog posts about staying in Salem, so check out the recommended reading section at the bottom of this blog.<\/p>\n

For today, I am going to chat about the three hotels in Salem I would personally pick if I was planning to stay in the witch city. Please keep in mind these are just my personal opinions on the matter. Salem is home to tons of amazing hotels, Airbnb locations and more. My top three<\/h3>\n

First up would be the Hawthorne Hotel<\/a>, without second thought. The Hawthorne is absolutely gorgeous and on the national registry of historic hotels of America. It is in a prime location (with parking!!) right in the middle of the action in Salem and is also home to two dining options on the main floor. Alternatively you can order room service and have it brought right to your door. Added bonus: you\u2019re right across the street from Goodnight Fatty which are some of the most delicious cookies you will have in your life. Trust me on this one, get cookies! You\u2019re welcome.<\/p>\n

The next hotel I would choose is the Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites<\/a>. I include this one in my list because it\u2019s also in a great location, large, has on site parking and dining options on the main floor as well. You\u2019re also only a short walk from Jaho which has delicious coffee as well as my current favorite latte, the Harvest Moon. You can begin your day with delicious coffee and food without having to go very far at all. If you\u2019re looking for dinner one night, check out Brodie\u2019s Seaport which is also very, very close by. The Brodie Burger is really yummy and one of my favorites in Salem!<\/p>\n

The last hotel on my list is The Salem Inn<\/a>. They are in a great location right by The Witch House, a very short walk to the main \u201ctourist area\u201d of Salem and the Inn is stunningly beautiful. It is also rumored to be haunted! I can\u2019t confirm this officially or anything but I know many locals and tourists alike who had some spooky experiences at The Salem Inn. The Salem Inn also offers some<\/em> on site parking options in case you\u2019re bringing the car.<\/p>\n

An honorable mention has to go to The Merchant<\/a>, while we are at it. The Merchant is a gorgeous boutique style hotel in an amazing location. It is also rumored to be haunted, is right up the road from the Ugly Mug Diner which has amazing food and is sure to be a great stay.<\/p>\n

When to book<\/h3>\n

I have mentioned this several billion times and I\u2019ll say it again: book early<\/em>. This applies 1,000 times over if you\u2019re visiting in the fall. Hotels in Salem fill fast, so securing your accommodations is one of the very first things I would do.<\/p>\n
