Hey everyone! Happy Monday and welcome back to the blog. Today I have for you a round up of a few photos that I took on Saturday the 13th during the Anniversary of the First Muster of the National Guard. This is such a fun and historic event and I really enjoy going. The country’s first militia mustered on the Salem Common in 1637, which began the foundation for what would become the National Guard. This event is complete with a military flyover, a helicopter landing on the Salem Common, a military firearm salute and more.<\/p>\n

So first thing’s first – what is a muster? “In military organization, the term muster is the process or event of accounting for members in a military unit. This practice of inspections led to the coining of the English idiom pass muster, meaning being sufficient. When a unit is created, it is “mustered in” and when it is disbanded, it is “mustered out”.”<\/p>\n
