It has been HOT over here in New England, you guys. If you aren’t in the area, just imagine being able to cook food on the dashboard of your car and you’ll get the idea. For today’s blog post I wanted to go over five ways to beat the heat in our lovely witch city.<\/p>\n

Grab a cold treat<\/h3>\n

This is an obvious one. Get some ice cream or a cool treat! I would suggest Melt Ice Cream, they have such unique, delicious flavors. I have never been disappointed after a visit there.<\/p>\n

Stay cool inside<\/h3>\n

If being out in the sun is too much, move the activities indoors. I’d suggest checking out the Peabody Essex Museum, The House of the Seven Gables or catching a movie at CinemaSalem. If you’re in the mood for some silly fun, get some pictures taken with WitchPix! Up for some problem solving? Check out one of Salem’s escape rooms. There are two: Escape Room Salem and Twisted Escape Room. Down for some bowling? Flatbread Pizza is also home to Derby Lanes candlepin bowling. There are tons of indoor options in Salem if you can’t take the humidity.<\/p>\n

Hop the Salem Trolley<\/h3>\n

Are you sight seeing on foot? If it’s getting hot and wearing you down, jump on board the Trolley. You can see some of Salem’s landmarks while shaded from the sun! Pro tip: drink some water while you’re checking it out.<\/p>\n

Escape to the Willows<\/h3>\n

The Salem Willows is an ocean side park and arcade area. With tons of shade, entertainment and views of the water it could be a nice escape until the sun goes down. There is also live music from time to time so be sure to watch the calendars.<\/p>\n

Enjoy some spirits<\/h3>\n

Salem is home to Notch Brewery, Far From the Tree Cider and Deacon Giles Distillery. Hang out in the shade or the air conditioning with friends and grab a drink!<\/p>\n
