things to do in salem, salem ma and the coronavirus covid 19

Oh my goodness. I don’t know about you guys but I am so overwhelmed with all of this Coronavirus stuff. It’s scary and a lot to process all at once. I have been seeing tons of questions and concerned comments over in my Facebook group about visiting Salem, MA right now as well as in my direct messages on Instagram. You may find yourself wondering right now if it’s safe to visit Salem. Is everything shut down? How do I know if I should postpone my trip?

Those are all very good questions. Today on the blog I wanted to offer up some information and resources that will hopefully help you make the most informed decisions.

Safety first

I can’t stress this enough. If you’re worried or are someone who is at a high risk for illness…safety first. Above all else.

Reference the following websites

The city of Salem as well as the folks behind Destination Salem have been organizing information as it comes in. You can find those links in the following places:

Check social media

If there is a certain business or event you’re wondering about, check social media. Updates are available in real time and will let you know what’s going on. I also suggest signing up for the newsletters of the attractions in Salem you are wanting to know about. I have been getting emails directly from many businesses and attractions with info the moment it becomes available.

How can you still support Salem’s businesses?

Creative North Shore published a fantastic blog post regarding that. Please, please give it a read and learn about the ways you can help minimize the financial effects this has on small businesses and creative efforts in the witch city.

I hope this helps. Stay safe, everyone! Be smart, make good decisions and be well. <3
