Hi guys! Welcome back to the blog. For today I wanted to do a little round up style post. These are great because it allows me to point you at a bunch of resources all in one place relating to a specific topic. So this blog post round up is going to be all about Salem, MA weddings and engagement shoots. I get asked about Salem weddings and such all of the time so I hope this helps!
SalemMAWedding.com
Of course I am going to link to my own website, right? 😛 For those of you who don’t know, I have a sister site to Things to do in Salem all about weddings and that’s SalemMAWedding.com. Head on over there to read my tips and tricks as a former professional wedding photographer as well as vendor and venue highlights. Be sure to also follow me over on Instagram @salemmwedding and use the hashtag #witchcitywedding for a chance to be featured.
Weddings – General info
In the top navigation of my website I have a link that says “Weddings“. That will bring you to a page that covers some venue options in Salem and more. This is a good starting place for planning your big day!
The city of Salem
If you’re looking for information from the city of Salem regarding acquiring a marriage license, click here. According to the city:
“To apply for a marriage license the couple must come together to the City Clerk’s Office. Both must be at least eighteen years of age or they must obtain a court waiver from the district or probate court. Once the couple fills out the application there is a mandatory three (3) day waiting period to pick up the license. This three (3) day waiting period can only be waived with a court order.
The Marriage License is valid for sixty (60) days and can be used to marry in any City or Town in Massachusetts. Application Fee: $20.00. Once you are married and if you need a marriage certificate the fee is $10.00. If you have taken your spouses last name you may need a marriage certificate in order to change your name on bank accounts, etc.”
Pinterest is an absolutely great place to start gathering your thoughts. You can pick color schemes, themes, get tons of visuals for a destination wedding and more. I actually wrote a blog post entirely about using Pinterest to help with your wedding over at SalemMAWedding. To read it, click here.
