Hey everyone! Happy Monday and welcome back to the blog. Today’s blog content is my top three winter date ideas here in Salem, MA. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner I figured this might be helpful info if you’re planning a special day here with your special someone. I decided to do two activity based ideas and one dining based idea. Keep in mind this list is certainly not all inclusive, these are just a few ideas to give you some inspo.

My top three winter date ideas in Salem, MA

Book a photoshoot with me

Did you know that in addition to running ThingstodoinSalem.com and SalemMAWedding.com I am also a professional photographer. Yup! A couple’s photoshoot around downtown Salem with some snowy, wintery vibes is an awesome way to have a date day in the witch city. I do couple’s shoots, engagement shoots, proposals, handfastings, elopements, vow renewals…the options are endless. My calendar books up quickly so if you’re interested, make sure you reach out ASAP. I can be reached via email at info@thingstodoinsalem.com and my work can be seen at PhotographybyThingstodoinSalem.com.

Salem’s So Sweet 2024

The Salem’s So Sweet festival is one of my favorites out of the entire year. If you have been following my content for any length of time, you definitely know that. 🙂 The festival this year is February 9-11 so it’s this coming weekend. Enjoy the kick off event, walk around to all of the ice sculptures, enjoy them being lit up at night, enjoy shopping incentives and bonuses through downtown Salem and so much more. This festival has become more and more popular every single year and I know you’ll love it. Grab hot chocolate from Blackcraft to kick off your time here and enjoy the festivities! If you aren’t able to make it for the festival, be sure to head back here to my blog on February 19th for images of every single sculpture. I have been covering this festival for the last 6 years, this will be my 7th year.

Dining in Salem

This one is simple enough – grab lunch or dinner with your special person in downtown Salem. There are so many fantastic options, Salem has no shortage of delicious food. If you are subscribed to my newsletter (!!) you would have seen I recently went to Ledger for a date night with my person. Ledger is a wonderful spot with amazing food (see above!). I also really love Turner’s Seafood…Turner’s never disappoints and their seafood is super fresh. If you’re looking for a breakfast spot, I’d suggest Salem’s Retreat. It has become a personal favorite of mine with its greasy spoon vibes and cozy interior. Try the steak tips and eggs!

There you have it! Three fun winter date ideas in Salem, MA. What are some of your favorites? Stay tuned for my blog post on 2/19 where I will be sharing my coverage of the Salem’s So Sweet festival. Enjoy!! <3
