Salem 400+

Hey all! Happy Monday and welcome back to the blog. Did you know that Salem turns 400 next year? Yup! 2026 is the quadricentennial birthday for the city of Salem, MA. Just the thought of that is honestly mind blowing. So what does that mean? Is the city planning anything? Of course. 🙂

“Salem 400+ commemorates Salem’s quadricentennial while acknowledging the preexisting indigenous community and explores the opportunities and connections of Salem’s multifaceted history while crafting a vision for current and future generations.” [Source: Salem400.org]

The city of Salem is working on a year long calendar of events that will run through 2026 to celebrate. The agenda also includes giving back to the community by investing in six of the city’s most beloved and heavily utilized public parks. They will all be given updates and featured in an event called Signature Parks Day.
